This is an excellent in depth article about water restrictions in California. Much more detail than my previous articles. Kudos to American Thinker.

What Global Warming?

Al Gore is really going to be pissed at the British. The BBC News Reports that there has been no increase in the global temperature in the last 11 years. In fact they report the warmest year on record was in 1998. This is in spite of the fact that man-made carbon dioxide emissions have continued to rise. If carbon dioxide from fossil fuel use and other human activities is directly linked to global warming, as Al Gore wants us to believe, then why the heck is our temperature not rising?

Climate change skeptics say they expected this is because the earth’s climate naturally goes through warming and cooling cycles. The amount of energy released from the sun increases and decreases cyclically and it stands to reason that the temperature of the earth would fluctuate as well.

Scientists disagree on the amount of solar radiation the earth actually receives. One side of the argument believes that there is not enough solar radiation to cause the previously increasing temperatures.

“Warming in the last 20 to 40 years can’t have been caused by solar activity,” said Dr Piers Forster from Leeds University, a leading contributor to this year’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

On the other hand:

But one solar scientist Piers Corbyn from Weatheraction, a company specializing in long range weather forecasting, disagrees. He claims that solar charged particles impact us far more than is currently accepted, so much so he says that they are almost entirely responsible for what happens to global temperatures.

He is so excited by what he has discovered that he plans to tell the international scientific community at a conference in London at the end of the month.

According to research conducted by Professor Don Easterbrook from Western Washington University last November, the oceans and global temperatures are correlated. The oceans, our planet’s greatest heat reserve, warm and cool over periods of time. During the 1980’s and 1990’s the oceans were in a warming cycle. Recently, the oceans have begun losing their warmth and cooling down.

Professor Easterbrook says: “The PDO cool mode has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of about 30 years of global cooling.”

What does all this mean? It could mean that the earth has slowed a warming trend, but might eventually begin heating up. It might mean that we are in for 20-30 years of cooling temperatures and then another natural warming cycle. This all may just be Mother Earth’s natural rhythm instead of Al Gore’s fatalistic “the Earth is toast” scenario.

I have always thought these temperature variations were part of Earth’s natural cycle, geologists tell us of the cycles of warming and ice ages long before human’s ever set foot on the planet. I have lived long enough to see warm periods and cooler periods that lasted years. I see with my own eyes that Al Gore and “green” corporations are getting rich off the population with their gloom and doom prophecies. Not to mention our president and congressional leaders using it as an excuse to tax the population into oblivion.

I saw the northeast United States wonder if they were ever going to have a summer this year. And so I wonder to myself: What global warming? It sounds like it is all a hoax to me.
