Operation Can You Hear Us Now – Asheville, NC

Although there was no coverage, Saturday October 17, Tea Party activists demonstrated mainstream media outlets all over the United States. The protests were held in response to lack of responsible coverage by news outlets. The activists pointed out that the massive march on Washington, DC was not covered by the media with the exception of Fox News and Internet outlets.

This link to the Asheville, NC protest will be of interest to those in Western North Carolina. The Operation Can You Hear Us Now site has links to this and many other protests that were held across the nation.

I suggest you check them out. It’s more than likely the only coverage you’ll find.

Operation Can You Hear Us Now?

My post today is the following press release from Operation Can You Hear Us Now?  I recommend anyone who can to take part in this protest. The mainstream media is not doing their jobs and we need to remind them.

On October 17th, 2009 thousands of citizens will rally in cities across the nation on the doorsteps of “Main Stream Media” outlets protesting media bias and complicity in advancing a political agenda. To date, almost 100 events are scheduled simultaneously to occur, with more being added daily.

Intelligent, clear-minded, patriotic citizens from all walks of life will converge on this day to protest widespread media bias as practiced by “news organizations” across the USA.

“Operation Can You Hear Us Now? – March on Media” is an event designed to take the message of the people to the press. Recent events of national importance have taken place and received NO PRESS in the current Main Stream Media environment (9/12 March on DC, ACORN Scandal, Avowed Communist working in White House, etc).  These and other “travesties” are the impetus for this one day event.

“Operation Can You Hear Us Now? – March on Media” is a grassroots movement in which citizens are organizing independently in their own communities and at their own discretion. Many Tea Party Groups, 9/12 Groups, and citizen action groups have joined together to make this event a success. People are using Facebook, Twitter, Craig’s List, their existing groups, and even starting new groups to connect and make a statement to media organizations in their community. This is a message that has resonated with thousands upon thousands around the United States.

It is the opinion of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people that the Main Stream Media has become just another mouthpiece of “Big Government”.

We submit that the Main Stream Media is “guilty” of the following misconduct:

• Journalistic Malpractice
• Yellow Journalism
• Extreme Bias
• Unfair and Unbalanced Reporting
• Reporting That Reflects a Political Agenda
• Complicity, Cover-up and Deceit
• Partnering with Big Government
• Reporting of Self-Commissioned polls as “News”
• Willful Misrepresentation of Facts
• Loss of all Objectivity

Democrat or Republican? It Doesn’t Matter

The problems we are facing as a nation have not been brought on by either political party. The problems are the result of corruption. Corrupt politicians in all levels of government, local, state and federal have sold their souls to the devil. In this instance the “devil” is special interests, labor unions, big corporations, etc.

To “throw out” one party and elect members of another will not work. That has been done often enough with no improvement. We need to support those people (rare as they seem to be) who are honest, who have principles and values in line with those of our founding fathers.

We as citizens must conduct our own vetting process of those who would seek election in this country. Anyone who runs for political office needs the same investigation and research as we would conduct in choosing someone to care for our children.

It is now apparent that the press is no longer willing to conduct investigations and report the true character and associations of those who would be our leaders. In this electronic information based time in which we live; we all have the ability to investigate and research anyone and any organization. It is our duty to do so.

Once we have gathered the information, the same computers and internet connections can be the means of distributing our findings to our friends, neighbors and community. Only then, by circumventing the mainstream media, will we learn the truth about candidates and incumbent politicians. Only then will we have the information at hand to make informed decisions.

I am all for “throwing the bums out” but let’s all make the commitment that we don’t replace one set of bums with another. Let’s all research and share information so as to make wise choices in 2010 and future elections. Our very freedom depends on it.

Conservatives Gaining Ground In Online Media and Books

We are silent no more. According to a report by Fox News today, American’s are buying more books and reading and responding to more blogs by conservative authors than liberal writers. In fact, this week’s NYT Bestseller list nonfiction category contained three conservative books: “Culture of Corruption” by Michelle Malkin, “Liberty and Tyranny” by Mark R. Levin, and “Catastrophe” by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann. There are no books written by liberals on the list.

“But some media experts say that what’s happening now reflects a more fundamental shift toward conservative writing — both in books and on the Internet — caused by an elite media that ignores conservative voices.”

This blog was not originally a political forum. When excessive government spending and bailouts became the normal way to do business, I became alarmed. When I voiced my concerns to my elected representatives I was ignored. It was then that I became an activist, one of the angry mob, an astroturf citizen. It was then that this blog became a way to promote free speech by using it.

I became a conservative blogger as a result of the strong leftist shift the country has undergone. Many more are like me and we will be heard. The Fox report today shows that others are listening. It proves that many are speaking out and are being read by those who want this country to abandon the leftist agendas being forced upon us. We are silent no more!

Is This The Future?

I have a vision of the future that keeps slipping into my minds eye.

In this vision, my husband and I are spending most of our time in the basement of our home. It is that room where we have the wood stove. In earlier years that old stove had served us well in power outages when lack of electricity made heating the upper floor impossible. In the times of my vision, Cap and Trade has kicked in and electricity has become extremely expensive. The cost of everything else has skyrocketed as well. We are on a fixed income and are having to “make do”.

The woodland behind our home provides small limbs and wood that can be used to heat  the room and warm up a meal. My ability as a girl raised by a family of hunters enables us to have fresh meat on occasion. Maybe a squirrel or rabbit that happens into my traps.  We have to be careful and not let anyone know we are partaking of the wildlife, since the wild life activists and green earth folks have outlawed hunting.

We stay to ourselves, fearful of our safety. We carefully guard the weapons and ammunition we managed to hide from the environmental corps when they came to check our home for environmental impact and energy efficiency. We plan to use the weapons if we are attacked or if the government housing agency decides we no longer qualify to live in the home we bought and worked so hard to pay for. We are getting older and it has already happened to some of our friends. They had to go live with their children so a family of younger people who could work in the Dear Leader’s factories could have their home. We will not give up our home without a fight. Why worry about dying, we are too  old to qualify for health care anyway.

We cry for our grand and great-grandchildren. They are being forced to work jobs that the Dear Leader deems they should. They have no choice in what they are allowed to do. The family has been scattered like leaves in the wind, because the government has decided that they need to be working these jobs in locations the government decides.

Big families like we were part of are no more. Forced birth control, abortions, and sterilization are now the law of the land. In the interest of the natural environment, families are separated and children are no longer a blessing, but a curse. Many women hide pregnancies and put children adrift, like Moses, in the hopes a childless family will take them in. Babies born handicapped are no longer cherished, but much like the customs of the ancient Spartans, are allowed to die and leave room for healthier babies. We have no place for children who will not be productive.

The country we grew up in and lived in for most of our lives lives on in the stories we tell the youngest children. We caution them not to repeat the stories to others. Maybe someday they will remember.

It is my greatest hope and prayer that this vision does not come to pass.

If it does, the dreams of our Founding Fathers lasted little more than two centuries. A very brief period in history. The grand experiment that held out so much hope for all peoples will have failed.

It is up to all of us, we citizens of the United States, no matter our skin color or religious beliefs, or station in life to take action and protect our republic. It is up to us, we who are alive and able to stop the take over of our government and way of life to stand up and do so. Ask questions and demand answers. Vote and create change that will be to return us to our founding principles, the government by, of and for the PEOPLE that made this country the greatest in the world.

From my own research, most if not all, the Obama appointees are shady characters and should be investigated. It is apparent that the President and his henchmen and women are dangerious radicals. The road they are leading our country down will drastically change the United States into something we no longer recognise.
